The Explorers program is new to the Grand Rapids Fire Department. This is a volunteer service program that has its roots in the Boy Scouts of America. It pairs up a group of youths/young adults aged 14-21 with instructors who engage in volunteer service. The Explorers program will also include activities unique to the fire service including training that firefighters engage in. This program is currently in the development phase and an announcement will be made when it is available.
